Survey & Research: Colonia Rescue Expedition Log 01

August 3, 2021 Rampageous One

As part of the survey and research department onboard the Democracy J3Q-5HN it is my job to make a thorough investigation of any newly discovered notable stellar phenomenon or sites. While the nature Democracy’s first expedition to Colonia is not one of discovery, it’s unforeseen logistical challenges has made it possible for exciting new discoveries.

Among the most notable in this expedition has been the discovery of a previously unknown 4 grouping of rubeum and flavum metallic crystals discovered by myself CMDR Rampageous One in the BLEIA EOHN DI-I C26-11 system.

These crystalline structures, which are noted for the metallic lustre of their outer surface, have been discovered throughout known space in varying sizes and usually made of heavy materials present in local system heavy metal planets. This led many to believe these structures were only possible in systems with planet types such as terrestrial high-metal content and terrestrial metal-rich. However, recent metallic crystals, such as this one, found in systems with two stars but no planets in space outside the populated bubble of human expansion have challenged such hypothesis. The origins of these objects is still unknown and requires further research, more than we are equipped for now on board the Democracy. However, my sensor analysis as determined they are created by huge numbers of primordial microorganisms which sparks the imagination with wild theories of ancient alien conspiracy’s.

On a trivial note, while waiting for Democracy to make a fueling jump to a tritium rich ring, I was able to make survey of geological signals on the surface of BLAE DRYE BI-N C9-9. For a small moon it was beaming with active Sulphur Dioxide Fumarole. While a common occurrence across space, I never cease to be amazed by the high-pressure gas and minerals emitted from the magma just below these surface openings. It’s often easy in the void of space to forget just how active and miraculous this universe of ours is. I was fortunate to enjoy a few explosive light shows and collect a few crystals before returning to the Democracy to resume a mining run.

This is CMDR Rampageous One signing off and reminding you to take the time to stop and smell the Sulphur Dioxide.
